Climate Action Wansbeck was formed after running stalls a few times in The Farmer's Market, Morpeth. The stalls gave us opportunities to engage with the public on environmental and green issues: and to have activities that included plant swaps, 'grow your own' and cycling demonstrations.

Climate Action Wansbeck's Eco Fair took place in the Market Place, Morpeth during Big Green Week 2022. There were 18 stall holders including those selling eco products from coffee, candles, cookies and soap products: as well as giving talks, a radio station, children's printmaking and a Friends of the Earth stall.
Climate Action Wansbeck members attended an event in August 2022 which observed the endangered endemic White Clawed crayfish in their natural environment, the river Wansbeck. These native crayfish are under threat from an invasive species, the American Signal crayfish and therefore some White Clawed have been moved to a protected 'ark' at nearby Wallington Hall.
Participants had the opportunity to inspect the crayfish at close quarters and hear how the problem of the invasive American Signal crayfish is trying to be controlled. The field trip was conducted with a representative from the local council who has a licence to handle this species.
